A total of 100 students were inducted into the first year of
BDS course at the SRM Dental College, Ramapuram which comes under the SRM
University.
Speaking at the induction programme held on the college
campus in Ramapuram, SRM University Chancellor Dr T R Pachamuthu said that the
programme was aimed at orientation of students and parents about campus life.
R Shivakumar, chairman of SRM Ramapuram and Tiruchy
campuses, said that SRM Dental College ranks among the top 10 in India and is
the number one in Tamil Nadu.
Stating that the academic activities of the college were
very vibrant, he wanted the students to get involved in more research works and
come out with papers for publishing in various journals.
A text book on dental materials, authored by Dr Mahalakshmi,
Professor and Head, Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, was
released by Dr Pachamuthu and Dr R Shivakumar on the occasion in the presence
of SRM University registrar N Sethuraman, dean SRM Dental College Dr K Ravi and
Ramapuram campus director Dr Narayanaswamy.
